Brain of Leighton Quiz

2009
  Once again the Brains of Leighton quiz was held at the Raven's Theatre, Cedars School.
Here are some of the teams discussing the pre-event quiz.

  In the photos below we have Rtn Mike Rowland introducing the quiz, followed by President Brian Spurr welcoming everyone.
The third photo is Sue Villiers from RNIB following the presentation of a cheque for £5,000 from the Club to finance the production of 5 Talking Books.
       

 

  One of the major fund raising events at the quiz is the raffle and tombola. Here are a couple of photos of the raffle prizes.
     

 

  Below we have the winning teams from Connells (The Smarties); Cedars School and The Non Execs.
The trophies were the Connells Special Trophy, the Best Business and the Best Club respectively.
       

 

  Last year the Greensand Trust B team were the runners-up - this year they went one place better and were awarded the Stuart Fletcher Trophy, that went to the best overall team. They won the trophy with 129 points which was 3 more than their nearest rival. Below are two photos of them being awarded the trophy by Shirley Fletcher.
     

 

 

2008
The sixth Brains of Leighton quiz was, once again, held at the Raven's Theatre, Cedars School.

  Connells Estate Agents once again fielded 7 teams and this year the winning team were called "Brain and Brawn" from the finance department.

2007

  For the fifth Brains of Leighton quiz we were once again at Cedar's School.
Here are some of the pre-events - getting drinks in anticipation and some the contestants starting on the marathon quiz round.

  Once again we were well supported by Connells Estate Agents, who fielded 7 teams.

  Sacred School from Cedars, the overall winners, of the Stuart Fletcher Cup.

  St Barnabus 'A' Team, the overall winners, of the Stuart Fletcher Cup with Shirley, after who's husband the cup is dedicated.

2004

  On November 1st 2004, we held the second Brain of Leighton Buzzard Quiz.
48 teams took part in an entertaining evening at Brookland's Middle School and the profits went to the NSPCC Full Stop campaign. Contestants were treated to an excellent meal, provided by Elizabeth Edwards Catering, and we also held a raffle and tombola, and also laid on a bar.
The winning club team were the ladies of Heath and Reach W.I., followed closely by the Leighton Masqueradors, the Rotary Club of Leighton Buzzard, and members of RAS
There was also a special award for the Beauties and the Beast, from Connells, as they entered 6 teams.
The winning business team was McCann's Marvels.
The overall winners, with 140 points, were the St Barnabas 'A' team - many congratualtions go to them.
