The Brains of Leighton Linslade Charity Quiz
Monday October 19th 2009 was the date for the Brain of Leighton Linslade Quiz, with the venue again
being the Raven Theatre at Cedars Upper School. It is now in the seventh year and is part of the social calender of
Leighton Buzzard and Linslade.
A great night was had by everyone during which over £2000 was raised for the this year's nominated charities which include
the local branch of the MS Society and the RNIB.
One of the teams competing was from the RNIB so past President Giles
took the opportunity to present them with a cheque for £5,000 which would cover the cost of producing 5 new Talking Books.
Then, following the success of the evening's raffle and tombola we were able to present them with another cheque for a
further £1,000.
Here is a picture of Sue Villiers from the RNIB thanking the Club for the initial cheque. |

The overall winning team of the Stuart Fletcher Trophy this year was the Greensand Trust 'B' team with 129 points.
The trophy for the Best Business went to the teachers of Cedar's School with 126 points. On the same points score (126)
we had two Club teams and, after a tie-break quiz about Milton Bryant, the 'Non-Execs' beat the Heath & Reach 'A' Team to
receive the Best Club Trophy.
As always we were well supported by Connells, who entered nine teams this year. The winning team within these nine was
the "Smarties' on 119 points.
Well done to all, and also to everyone who turned up to support the evening.
